The Great Stupa of Amaravathi, also known as the Mahachaitya, is one of the largest ancient Buddhist stupas in India, located about 35 km from Guntur city. Dating back to the 2nd century, it is a heritage monument under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India and draws pilgrims, historians, and tourists alike. The site is further enriched by the adjacent Amaravathi Archaeological Museum, making it a must-visit half-day excursion.
