One of the largest ancient Buddhist stupas in India, the Mahachaitya of Amaravathi dates back to the 2nd century BCE and is a protected monument of national importance under the Archaeological Survey of India. The adjacent Amaravathi Archaeological Museum houses centuries-old artefacts discovered around the site, including a replica of the Sanchi stupa in its open yard. Located approximately 30 km from Guntur city, it is a must-visit for history and heritage enthusiasts.
